Respect Our Rights: Behind the Scenes Panel Talk

Manasseh Meyer Seminar Room 2-1, Singapore 259772 (Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy)
Description

Stories of loss, longing, betrayal and endurance.

More than 200,000 of Singapore’s 3-million strong labor force work as low-wage Foreign Domestic Workers (FDWs). 27 of these FDWs have collaborated with CARE and H.O.M.E by lending their voices to an exhibition titled Respect Our Rights, Voices of Foreign Domestic Workers. This digital storytelling exhibit not only allows these women to build skills and represent themselves, but also provides/allows the viewer a look into the everyday lives of an under-represented and often mistreated demographic.

We invite you to a behind the scenes talk to witness the stories and share in the lives of Foreign Domestic Workers at the first viewing of this photo exhibition - Respect Our Rights, Voices of Foreign Domestic Workers - with the hope that awareness of the issues they face will result in the better treatment of FDWs.

In collaboration with NUS CARE and H.O.M.E.

Bringing these marginalised voices into the mainstream is a step to combatting the normalisation of violence and is in line with our Help Anna campaign.
